Mara Superior

Mara Superior’s ceramics and sculptures juxtapose art historical references beginning with the Egyptians through 17th century European ceramics from a contemporary New Yorker’s view of the New England experience. The content of her work addresses autobiographical issues regarding romance, familiarity, sentimentality and fantasy, often incorporating archetypal symbols of Home as a valued place, haven of shelter, of happiness and love.

She has a BFA in painting from the University of Connecticut and a Masters degree in ceramics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She resides in western Massachusetts.
